Course Information:
MMA’s advocacy efforts are most successful when multiple municipal voices are heard. Municipal officials’ communication with state legislators and participation in public hearings and work sessions are vital components of the Association’s lobbying strategy. Kate Dufour, Director of MMA’s State and Federal Relations Department will conduct an interactive session on how municipal officials can advocate for their community’s interests. Participants will learn how legislation is enacted, the resources available for engaging in the process and tips to ensure that local officials’ voices are heard.
