Course Information:

This class provides a brief introductory overview of municipal property tax assessment roles and responsibilities. It is geared toward selectboards and plantation assessors in municipalities without a full-time appointed assessor. The class will briefly cover the statutory framework, options for delegating assessing responsibilities, limitations on home rule authority and fundamental rules governing property valuation.
